Before attending our tradeshows, here are some precautions you may need to take.
If you are showing any symptoms, we would advise you to stay home from the shows.
Covid19 is basically a first cousin of the common cold. If you’ve had a cold you’ve likely had coronavirus. But covid19 is stronger than most other coronaviruses. What are the symptoms? Sore throat, fever, runny nose, cough, shortness of breath, aches and pains, abdominal pain and pneumonia in severe cases.
Coronaviruses are spread from person to person when you cough/sneeze on one another or if you touch contaminated surfaces. It is always advised that you should be coughing into your elbow and sneeze into a tissue.
The Corona virus cannot infect you through you skin but enters the body through ether your nose or your mouth. It is advice that you do not touch your face. Regularly wash your hands with soap and hot water. Also recommended is alcohol hand gel in between hand washing and to ensure you are regularly wiping down surfaces.
It is not recommended to you a mask to prevent the coronavirus, these masks are for patients and healthcare staff.
Here are the Do’s and Don’ts recommended by the HSE (https://www2.hse.ie/) :
Do
- Wash your hands properly and often.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve when you cough and sneeze.
- Put used tissues into a bin and wash your hands.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
- Avoid close contact with people who are not well.
- Follow the travel advice from the Department of Foreign Affairs.
- Stay at home if you are sick to help stop the spread of whatever infection you may have.
Don’t
- Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.
- Do not share objects that touch your mouth – for example, bottles, cups.
Wash your hands
You should wash your hands:
- after coughing or sneezing
- before and after eating
- before and after preparing food
- if you are in contact with a sick person, especially those with fever or respiratory symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing)
- after being on public transport or in a crowd (especially an indoor crowd)
- if you have handled animals or animal waste
- before having a cigarette or vaping
- if your hands are dirty
- after toilet use
Keep your hands in good condition, moisturise them often. Any basic product that is not perfumed or coloured is OK.
Do not wear gloves instead of washing your hands. The virus gets on them in the same way it gets on your hands. Also, your hands can get contaminated when you take them off.
